Privacy Policy for Catlas

Catlas ("the app", "we", "us") is a novelty app that makes cartoon cats appear on your screen. We respect your privacy. This policy explains what data the app does and does not handle. It applies to Catlas on both the Apple App Store and Google Play.

The short version

Catlas does not collect your personal data for analytics or advertising, and we never sell or share it. There are no accounts, no logins, no analytics, and no ads. The app makes no network requests except when you make an optional in-app purchase, which is handled by the app store and our payments provider (RevenueCat) to deliver and restore the cat packs you buy (see "Purchases" below).

Information we collect

None that leaves your device. Catlas stores a small amount of data locally on your device only, using the device's standard app storage:

• Your settings (e.g. how often cats appear, cat size, sound on/off).
• A local count of how many cats have visited (for the in-app stats screen).

This information never leaves your phone, is not transmitted to us or any third party, and is deleted when you uninstall the app or use the in-app "clear data" option.

Notifications

Catlas can show local notifications (for example, when a cat visits). These notifications are generated entirely on your device and are not delivered through, or visible to, any external server.

Purchases

Catlas offers optional one-time in-app purchases (cat packs). Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play and managed by RevenueCat, Inc., our payments/entitlement provider. To deliver and restore what you buy, these services process:

• which products you purchased and the transaction status, and
• a randomly generated, anonymous app-user identifier (not tied to your name).

Your payment details (such as your card) are handled entirely by Apple or Google — we never see or store them. We do not use purchase data for advertising and we do not sell it. For details, see Apple's, Google Play's, and RevenueCat's privacy policies.

Device capabilities we use, and why

• Notifications: to optionally let you know when a cat has visited.
• Vibration/haptics: for optional haptic feedback.
• In-app purchases: to offer optional cat packs via the app store.
• (Android only) Display over other apps: so cats can walk across the screen while you use other apps; and run at startup, to re-schedule cat appearances after a restart. These are not used on iOS.

We do not request access to your microphone, camera, contacts, location, photos, files, or any other personal information.

Sharing a screenshot

If you tap "Share my kitten count", the app creates a temporary image of your in-app stats and hands it to your device's standard share sheet. You choose where (if anywhere) it goes. The app does not upload this image anywhere.

Children's privacy

Catlas is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the "Effective date" above and post the revised policy at the same location.
